What is KeeGuard?

KeeGuard is a modular, free standing roof edge protection system. The KeeGuard fall protection system can ensure that your employees and workers are safe when accessing a building roof top.

What is KeeGuard made of? / What are its components?

KeeGuard is formed of recycled PVC counterweights, galvanised tube and Kee Klamp fittings. Here is a full list of KeeGuard components.

What type of roof can I install KeeGuard on?

KeeGuard works on flat roofs (or roofs that have an angle of a maximum of 10 degrees).

Ideally, your roof should be made of single ply membrane or mineral felt (asphalt).

If your site has different specifications, get in touch with our tech team and we will be able to advise whether KeeGuard is suitable for your project.

Can you install KeeGuard for me?

Yes. For an additional cost, we can provide installation services should you need that. However, KeeGuard was designed as a supply-only solution to help you keep costs down.

Can I install KeeGuard myself?

Yes. We show you how here. You do not have to be a certified installer either, BUT you have to make sure that you are trained to work at height. This is very important.

Installing KeeGuard is a two-person job.

Can KeeGuard withstand harsh environments?

KeeGuard is made of galvanised steel (or aluminium, on request), which means that it has great anti-corrosion properties. KeeGuard components are supplied hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 standards.

Do I have to pierce the waterproof membrane of my roof to install KeeGuard?

No. KeeGuard is a counterweight solution, which means that it will not damage your roof and can be easily removed or moved if necessary.

Does KeeGuard require any welding?

No. KeeGuard is made of a Kee Klamp and tube system, which does not require any kind of welding when being put together. Each fitting attaches to the tube with grub screws (in-built into the fitting); you only need an Allen key to put everything together.

Will KeeGuard be suitable for my project?

All sites are different and there is a possibility that KeeGuard is not be the best solution for your specific site. However, we will recommend an alternative solution if we think that KeeGuard is not the right choice.

How long does it take you to install KeeGuard?

KeeGuard installation is quick and hassle-free. However, installation depends on the size of your site. For example, 100m of KeeGuard can be installed in 8 around hours, by 2 people, provided that all parts are already on your roof.

What is the lead time on delivery for KeeGuard?

KeeGuard is usually shipped within one working day from receiving the payment from you.

Do you do site surveys?

Yes. Please get in touch with our team to arrange this. We will however ask you to send us as much info about your site as possible. We’d like to give you a rough quote on KeeGuard before commencing the site survey.

What tools do I need to install KeeGuard?

You do not need more than an Allen key or a torque wrench to tighten the set screws. However, you will find that installation goes faster if you use an impact driver.

How do I get KeeGuard on my roof?

Most components come palletized except for the pipe. Usually our customers move the KeeGuard components onto the roof by hand.

What standards does KeeGuard adhere to?

What if I need KeeGuard installed for an old building?

KeeGuard can be retrofitted onto older buildings. It also works well on new constructions.

What distance should I keep between each upright?

The standard bay size is 3m.
